UCAS Points for Gap Year Trips

An increasing number of gap year travel organisers are offering students the opportunity to gain UCAS points while undertaking a volunteer experience abroad. The Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) offers an equivalent to an A grade at AS-level and those who achieve a level three in the CoPE receive 70 Ucas points. The CoPE programme requires students to choose three modules from six areas: global awareness, enrichment activities, work-related activities, active citizenship, career planning and extended project.
