Scotland Needs Gap Year Students

A think-tank has recommended that a scheme should be created to help gap-year students and others carry out voluntary work at home rather than abroad. Reform Scotland said that hundreds of students sign up for volunteer programmes abroad but many more could be interested in volunteering if they did not have to go abroad. The recommendation was made following a four-month consultation into the voluntary sector.
