Jonathan Ross plans on taking a gap year

Chat show host Jonathan Ross has declared on his Twitter page that he intends to take a gap year. The 49-year-old, who will soon finish his £6.5 million per year contract with the BBC, stated "I have decided that after my shows finish in three weeks... gap year!"
Amid rumours that he may move to ITV next year, Ross's decision to take a gap year (perhaps inspired by the student lifestyle,) indicates that he wants a break before continuing his career away from the BBC. But he intends to keep busy during his gap year - he also stated "When I say gap year, I will still be twittering and writing comics."
