Oz Tops Happiness Poll

Recent research suggests that British travellers have a better time in Australia than in any other country. Results of a survey conducted by flight search site Skyscanner, involved asking British travellers to score how happy they were the last time they went on holiday with a mark out of 10. Australia topped the list scoring 9.7 out of 10. Following Australia was Italy (9.2), then Canada, Hungary, Malta and Thailand (all 9), followed by the USA (8.9) , Spain (8.8) and Egypt (8.7). Australia has always been a popular detination for gap year travellers with recent research undertaken by the Year Out Group indicating it is the 4th most popular worldwide destination after South Africa, Canada & Kenya. The Year Out Group research covers over 49,000 people who completed placements with Year Out Group member organizations in more than 90 countries in 2010/11.The Year Out Group is a not for profit organisation whose 38 members are specialist gap year providers that comply with a Code of Practice and strict membership criteria.
