Gap Year fundraisers given special reception in House of Lords

Gap Year students from Nottingham have been praised at the House of Lords for their efforts in raising £1.2m for charity. An article from the Nottingham Post reveals that several students spent their gap years raising the money, which will go to a variety of charities. The biggest contribution came from a sponsored climb of Mount Kilimanjaro, which raised a staggering £500,000.
One of the charity organisers said that the generous use of their time "showed students had a different side to them," and highlighted that spending their gap years carrying out fundraising work is "admirable". The success shows the popularity and rewarding nature of gap year fundraising experiences.
