50 CV Boosting Gap Year Ideas
19 August 2011
Our latest ebulletin features 50 of the latest gap year ideas that can boost a CV. Programmes range from volunteer projects abroad to work placements, internships, sports training courses and gap year study programmes. Issued in the week that over 100,000 students need to make a decision about their next step after A-levels, the bulletin aims to highlight the benefits that can be gained from an organised gap year programme. Skills and independence gained during a gap year can help boost a CV for university or job applications.
"Most recruiters look favourably upon graduates who have taken gap years," explains Carl Gilleard, chief executive of the Association of Graduate Recruiters. "Employers are looking for graduates who can demonstrate skills such as team work, communication and leadership, and these kinds of transferable skills can be developed on well-planned and productive gap years."
