Career Break & Gap Year Experts Heading For London Next Month

Some of the world's leading experts on gap years and career breaks will be gathering in London to give advice to anyone planning some time out from their career during 2012. "Year Out Expo" is a new event taking place alongside The Active Travel Show, The Outdoors Show and the Tullet Prebon London Boat Show at ExCeL London from 12-15 January.

Over the 4 days of the event aspiring career breakers will be able to hear 35 different talks and meet over 25 exhibitors who organise work, travel and volunteering programmes overseas. This will include the first UK appearance of Jeff Jung, recognised as one of the world's leading experts on career breaks. Jeff is flying over from America to share his experiences of travelling in 29 countries worldwide. Other speakers include Charlie McGrath MBE from Objective Travel Safety, Marcus Watts FRGS from the Year Out Group Hollie Brooks from BUNAC and Sam Cox, MD of Real Gap Experience.

Commenting on the speaker lineup, event organiser Andrew Bird said:

"We are delighted to have pulled together so many career break and gap year experts from all over the world. We are aiming to provide the definitive "one-stop shop" for anyone who is thinking of taking some time out from their career. Every day there will be speakers talking about how to plan a career break, how to stay safe on the road and how to find some really exciting work, volunteer or study programmes. We've got speakers talking about some amazing programmes that you can join in all corners of the world. Our speakers are talking from their personal experience in taking part in these programmes. They really have some great stories to share with anyone who is looking for inspiration to plan their perfect year out."

The exhibitors at Year Out Expo include overseas charities who recruit volunteers, adventure travel companies who employ gap year students, overland travel organisers, english language schools, ski instructor training companies, watersports training companies, sports development agencies, expedition organisers and american summer camps.

Advance ticket prices range from £13 for students and over 60's to £16 for Adults. The ticket price also includes free admission to the 4 other events taking place at ExCeL during this period, The Outdoors Show, Active Travel Show, London Bike Show and Tullet Prebon London Boat Show.
