Expert highlights advantages of gap experiences

Gap Year specialist Lawrence Lockhart has told students in South West England of the "wide range of life-changing experiences" that they could have if they choose to take a gap year before continuing their studies. Speaking to thisissouthdevon.co.uk, he highlighted the way gap year experiences can be of benefit in a young person's academic and professional career, stating "Young people gain new work skills, experiences and personal qualities that universities and employers value, a sense of self-worth through what they achieve during their gap year, a much-needed break from study and examinations and a chance to rethink their futures." He also added that a gap year can last up to 15 months.
